"My Lunch" is the second record by the Italian Psych-Electro-Postpunk band CRM (Customer Relationship Madness).
This new record was conceived and produced between the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war in Ukraine. This is precisely the lunch alluded to in "My Lunch," the title of the track on the album. Imagine foretasting, after working hard, an appetizing and well-deserved meal, thinking of exactly your favorite foods: the ones that make you feel at home. Only when you arrive, however, do you discover the fate of your meal. What was the happened to the magnificent destiny that the new world should have reserved for all of us. "Mother, what have you done? Why don't' you care about your son? Why did you burn my lunch?". These questions filled with frustration and anger will lead from the realization of the betrayal of the generational pact to a hallucinatory release, "Hey, here we go, dancing over the sun"
In this CRM concept album, the lyrics are "brushstrokes" of images in which singer-painter Luca Palazzi leaves the listener open spaces for the imagination and reflection.
Each piece is a mosaic tile that composes tales of social criticism "Then I Start to believe in my own State of Police" and dreamlike melancholy (Vanity Wheel, Mirror, Dreamers ) rebellion and anger (Interference, Weirdo) and bewilderment at a world in which the logic of consumerism is as applicable to the new indispensable wars (Buy, Alone) as it is to the world "betrayed," by the devastation of our ecosystem, where entertainment icons peddle propaganda as if they were politicians and vice versa, in a hypnotic short circuit aimed at letting well enough alone and allowing people to sleep placidly.
"In my room/ there's a view/ in my bones/ in my brain/ there's the clue/ in the dark/ like a stone hides its grace/ hold your breath/ come you bliss/ like a newborn/ like a newborn I'll close my eyes" (Dreamers).
